Dr. Robert Bouliane

Dr. Robert Bouliane is proud to offer 15 years of professional Chiropractic experience to the residents of Nanaimo, BC.

Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Dr. Bouliane obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in 1994 from the University of Windsor. After a rigorous 4 years, in 2000 he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree (DC) from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO, USA.  Upon graduating from Logan College the school awarded Dr. Bouliane with the Health Center Achievement Award for exemplary clinical performance and academic excellence.  In 2003 he completed the regulations established by the International Institute of Trigenics to become a Registered Trigenics Practitioner (RTP) licensed with the board of Natural Medicine of Ontario.  Continuing his studies with the Trigenics Institute, the following year he became a Certified Practical Trigenics Instructor (CPTI) for the institute teaching doctors all over North America. After continued study, and providing valuable research contributions to the institute, Dr. Bouliane now holds a Fellowship position with the Trigenics Institute (FIIT).

Following his graduation in 2000 from Logan College of Chiropractic, Dr. Bouliane returned home and directed his first of 3 Chiropractic office’s for 8 years in two locations.  Successfully completing both the American and Canadian National Board Exams allows Dr. Bouliane to practice in the United States and Canada.  Dr. Bouliane currently is licensed in British Columbia and he also previously held a license in Ontario, Michigan and Cayman Islands.  Dr. Bouliane is a member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, BC Chiropractic Association, and is the former Vice President of the Essex County Chiropractic Society.

Author of the book “The Healthy Alternative”, Dr. Bouliane has been invited to be the guest of multiple radio talk shows to share his message of why chiropractic care is the safest and most effective way to restore and maintain optimal health…naturally. He enjoys the challenge of the difficult case and is able get results when all else has failed. Through this reputation he was invited as the only non-allopathic doctor to join the Chronic Pain Management team of the Cayman Islands Hospital.

While a student in St. Louis, MO. and again as a clinic owner in Ontario, Dr. Bouliane enjoyed volunteering for his local Salvation Army providing members with lifestyle counseling as well as Chiropractic care on a weekly basis.  In his spare time he enjoys sports, boating, fishing, exercise and his favorite past time is designing and renovating houses.  He gained valuable experience in this field while building houses as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and owning a renovation company to fund his schooling.

In the Cayman Islands Dr. Bouliane has volunteered for the Cayman Islands National Track and Field Team, National Rugby Team, Humane Society, Flowers 1 mile Sea Swim, Cayman Islands Marathon, NORCECA beach volleyball, and was a “Big” with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. He spread his message of wellness through eating well, exercising, positive mental attitude and the chiropractic lifestyle at corporate and church talks, lunch and learns.

Dr. Bouliane is excited to move his family to Nanaimo and join the team at Pure Body Balance Health and Fitness Clinic. Once again, his unique and fundamentally different approach to health will spread fast and he will become the “go to guy” for those who have been unable to find relief of chronic illness and pain, sports and work injuries.

Chiropractic & Nutrition

Chiropractors are in a unique situation compared to many other healthcare practitioners. Rather than simply treating and managing disease, we’re committed to improving the overall health and wellbeing of our patients.

Nutrition and chiropractic go hand-in-hand and Dr. Bouliane has studied nutrition as long as he’s studied chiropractic, and helping our patients improve their nutritional habits is an important goal. By doing so we can offer our patients a much more well-rounded (or “holistic”) approach to improving their lives.

In fact, studies show that when a patient improves their nutritional habits and takes nutritional supplements they respond even better to chiropractic care. The goal is to create sufficiency were there is deficiency and purity where there is toxicity.

Finally, by incorporating nutrition education into our day-to-day practice, our patients are able to make better informed decisions that will have a lasting impact on their health.
